A question from a potential customer:
“Is Thentix ‘A Touch of Honey’ comedogenic?”
First I need to define ‘comedogenic’:
Substances that are likely to clog your pores.
ansr.com/glossary
may be clogging to the skin and help induce blemishes

The answer is NO – Thentix does not clog pores. There is no mineral oil or other petroleum products or heavy oils that would do so. Thentix thus is completely safe to put on skin problems like acne. Honey and royal jelly have anti-bacterial properties and calendula is an anti-septic – these both help in clearing up acne.

Honey is used for many things other than eating. It has been used for thousands of years for wound treatment. The slow release of hydrogen peroxide in honey makes it very effective as an anti-bacterial agent. By being release slowly hydrogen peroxide is able to destoy bacteria without harming live tissue.
The enzyme in honey that produces hydrogen peroxide is called glucose oxidase. Too mach heat and light can reduce the activity of glucose oxidase. Tolerance to heat varies to some degree between different types of honey.
It is always best, when possible, to get unpasturized honey as it will retain its enzyme activity. (Pasturization is essentially purifying through heat.) Unpaturized honey or natural honey (raw honey) will retain its enzyme activity and be more effective at helping to heal wounds.
When storing honey at home, keep in a cool dark place.

Eczema manifests as rough, dry skin which can be found almost anywhere on the body – from the face and body to the feet and hands. It can vary in intensity and can also come a go with the seasons.

Generally believe to be the result of a weakened immune system, excema can cause the skin to become extremely itchy. Relieving the itchiness is often the most foremost issue with most people having this skin problem. With young children and infants it is vital as they often have less self control when it comes to ‘not scratching’.
Seeing a doctor or naturopath to check for allergies and chemical reaction in the environment can go a long way to solving the cause of the eczema. (more…)

Scarring can be unpleasant no matter where it is found on the body. Some can be uncomfortable as well as unsightly.
The best scar treatments I have been able to find are Vitamin E, honey and calendula (marigold). Vitamin E is well know for its healing properties and should be applied to (more…)

I’ve written about cracked heels before. But summer is here and out come the sandals and flip-flops and ouch! A couple of things happen with summer. One is that it is obviously hotter. And because of this we sweat more. When you sweat more you need to drink more water. Most people that I know anyway, don’t drink nearly enough water. They think that because (more…)

I talk to a lot of people about their skin. They put all sorts of things on their hands, faces and the rest of their body to keep the skin from drying out or to help ‘hydrate’ it. (more…)

It is winter. If you are almost anywhere in the US or Canada now you are very likely getting some pretty dry skin. If you have to be outside clearing snow and ice off your car or truck then sometimes even with a decent pair of gloves or mitts your hands are going to get cold. And the moisture is going to be leached out of the skin. And your face in the wind and cold is having the same thing done – it is losing moisture. (more…)

For years I could not make sense out of the skin cancer scare. What didn’t make sense to me was that most of the human race spent the majority of the time out in the sun over the last 10,000 years or so. Do the research and you will find that the companies that manufacture sunscreen and sun block would have us believe that we should be using these products 24/7 – that we can even get sunburn, thus cancer through our office window. It seems to be one of those things that “everybody knows” - One of those pieces of unevaluated data. If I follow that logic, then I figure that the human race would probably have died out by now – years ago – from all that exposure to the sun. It’s only in the last, what, 30 years, since sun block and sunscreen have been used, that this problem has been on the rise. (more…)

Plantar warts occur on the sole or plantar of the foot. The plantar is the sole or bottom of the foot. Warts are caused by a viral skin infection.
