Testimonial regarding Shingles and Thentix Lotion

“Thanks for getting this bottle of Thentix to me so quickly.  I use [Thentix] for my shingles.  I have shingles from above my eyes and go up into my scalp on one side.  [Thentix] completely takes the itch away.  I have had other products but they are messy and unsightly. Thentix goes right into the skin.  It helps smooth the skin out as well so it doesn’t look so bad.”

The “Other” Ingredients in Thentix ‘A Touch of Honey’

What about the ‘other’ ingredients in Thentix ‘A Touch of Honey’.  People read ingredients of what they eat and put on their bodies and in their hair and that is good.  You may have heard the expression ‘if you can’t pronounce it…”.  That is fine and well but sometimes those things that we can’t pronounce are just complicated ways of saying something simple.  We just don’t understand the word we are reading.  Works the other way as well: in food, it is common knowledge that MSG is bad for one and most people know that.  So, companies that want to add the ingredient use different innocuous sounding names like ‘hydrolyzed soy protein’.  People see the ‘soy’ and the ‘protein’ and as they are words they understand assume all is good.  Not so.

It can work the other way as well.  ‘A. barbadensis’ is not a term most are familiar with but it is one of the important and completely natural ingredients in Thentix and many other high quality skin products.  It is a synonym for Aloe Vera.  There are different types of aloe and sometimes manufacturers will use more specific terms in the ingredient list.

So, be observant and diligent but make sure if you are going to do this,  that you understand your terminology.

As was seen in the last post on our Muscle & Pain Formula it is certified natural.  Thentix International, the manufacturers of Thentix products are very concientious and try as much as possible to keep the ingredients in their line of products as natural as possible.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions from our Contact Page on our main website.

Thentix and mosquito bites

We recently worked the Calgary Stampede.  We had a booth in the BMO Center there demonstrating and selling the Thentix skin cream.  This year in Calgary it has been extra wet and normally a lot of the area is brown grass.  Currently it is still green.  Mush more rain than usual and thus more mosquitos.  Well, we were able to help.  We helped more people that you can imagine with their itchy bites.  Generally, people got a lot of instant relief from the itching.  I’m pretty sure the ingredients that help with this are the calendula and camomile as both are anti inflammatory and were included to help with the itching of psoriasis and eczema.  If you have some Thentix, try it the next time you get a bug bite.

Also, if you have a pet that scratches a lot – flea bites or whatever – try it for your pet.  It should calm the itching quite quickly and it completely non-toxic for your pet.

Monsanto, Bees and Honey

I get asked regularly about bees and the bee population and what is happening to them.  We sell a honey product and of course this subject will come up.  Here is an interesting article about how Monsanto’ s Round up is affecting some bee populations and how they are in bed with certain government agencies.  But do read the article to the end as it gives actual solutions that you can very easily be part of:

Skin Care, Vitamin D and the Liver

Vitamin D is the only vitamin that the body manufactures.  First the body ingests a food that contains cholesterol and this is converted by sunlight on the skin to a form of Vitamin D. The liver and kidneys further process this into Vitamin D3 which is used by the body to increase immune functions and other benefits.  Twenty minutes a day in the sun is usually enough to keep one’s supply of vitamin D adequate.

The process continues as the resulting vitamin gets absorbed into the blood stream and further processed by the liver and kidneys.  At this point it is used by the body.  Lack of sufficient vitamin D can be the cause of anything from depression to lethargy to serious skin problems such as psoriasis and eczema.  Also, chronic pain can be in some cases attributed to vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D keep bones healthy by increasing the absorption of calcium. Vitamin D deficiencies can be part of the cause of prostrate and other cancers; adequate vitamin D can help with neuromuscular function, preventing cardiovascular disease and there is evidence that it may help with Type Two Diabetes.  Vitamin D is used also to treat psoriasis and even schizophrenia.  Muscle weakness and muscle aches and pains: vitamin D deficiency is sometimes confused with fibromyalgia because of these similar symptoms.

Twenty minutes a day in the sun is usually enough to keep one’s supply of vitamin D adequate. If one lives above the 37th parallel (or below in the southern hemisphere) the amount of exposure to the sun in the winter is just not enough. Add to this the number of hours people spend inside (even in summer months) getting enough vitamin D just doesn’t happen for most people.

From the above we see that the liver is a vital factor in the production of adequate vitamin D.  Drugs and alcohol and some foods can affect the ability of the liver to properly process vitamin D.

So, let’s follow this through: A child has a fever or a person is getting headaches or various other pains and aches and is taking tylenol or something similar on a regular basis.  Over time the side effects of tylenol can be disastrous to the liver(and also the kidneys).  The liver can be damaged by other drugs as well not just tylenol.  Over time they take their toll.  For children things like tylenol should not be used at all as it is not considered safe.  If you consider drugs like this to be safe for children because they are sold over the counter please check out this article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2528730/ Paediatrics and Child Health

Some of the side effects of Tylenol that we found listed: black, tarry stools; bloody or cloudy urine; fever with or without chills (not caused by condition being treated and not present before treatment); pain in lower back or side (severe or sharp); pinpoint red spots on skin; skin rash, hives, or itching;    sore throat not present before treatment and not caused by the condition being treated; sores, ulcers, or white spots on lips or in mouth; sudden decrease in amount of urine; unusual bleeding or bruising; unusual tiredness or weakness.  Signs of liver damage: abdominal pain, dark urine, itchy skin, pale stools, yellow skin or eyes.

Drugs are promoted so heavily in the media these days that people generally do not do their own research on their safety.  Unwarranted trust of the medical profession seems to be rampant. There is even false information about illegal drugs such as marijuana(cannabis) that it is harmless:

“January 2008 edition of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, San Francisco researchers found that daily cannabis use is strongly associated with moderate to severe liver fibrosis. Fibrosis is scarring of the liver, and is the most prevalent indicator of worsening liver disease.”

OK, so how does all this affect the skin?

Vitamin d plays a role in skin cell metabolism and growth.  It also acts as an antioxidant and anti-carcinogen.  So, it is absolutely necessary for the treatment of skin problems such as psoriasis and eczema.

We found this from www.psoriasis-information.org:

“Although psoriasis is a skin condition, it is also associated with dysfunctions in the rest of the body. Itching, burning eyes, abnormalities in fingernails and toe nails, genital sores, poor digestion, and liver dysfunction can also be signs and symptoms of psoriasis. In fact, there is a strong connection between the functioning of the liver and the development of psoriasis. Impaired liver function can either be caused by or aggravated by psoriasis. I recommend an intestinal, parasite and liver and gallbladder cleanse.”

If the liver is weak then one can have problems with the skin.

Psoriasis is often treated with various skin lotions, medications and often ultraviolet light therapy.  A very important activity would be to improve the functioning of the liver.  If the liver is creating vitamin D then this vitamin will help with healthy skin growth and general detoxification.

Because many people take medications to treat psoriasis or eczema they are damaging the liver at the same time.  Many prescribed drugs damage liver function and a healthy liver is essential to healthy skin.  If the liver cannot cleanse the blood of excessive levels of microbes and other harmful toxins it becomes overwhelmed which can directly adversely affect psoriasis.

Prescription drugs such as methotrexate, which is used in used to treat psoriasis are directly associated with liver damage. One study pointed out that 26% of patients with psoriasis that are taking methotrexate develop cirrhosis of the liver over time.

Other things that can affect liver function are: food additives, cleaning solvents, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, the over-consumption of alcohol, or a reaction to certain medications such as steroids or oral contraceptives.

Someone with psoriasis would benefit more from liver cleanses and detoxification than overloading with drugs that actually damage the liver.

Two of the main products that are used internally for controlling psoriasis and eczema are cortisol and steroids.  Both of these can affect the liver’s ability to function over time.  Cortisol can weaken the immune system, create bone loss and it also counteracts insulin.  Once the liver has been weakened the damage to the skin will continue as this organ is not producing the necessary Vitamin D to properly condition the skin.

Additionally, the side effects of cortisol and steroids are often not worth it when there are healthier ways to treat skin problems such as psoriasis and eczema.

So, although everyone is different and may need different solutions to their skin issues, there are healthy ways to treat skin problems.  Liver cleanses and other detoxifying process are essential. Use a skin cream that does not clog pores or put further stress on the liver and immune system.  Get out in the sun without sunscreen or sunblock and in the winter take Vitamin D supplements.

If you use “Thentix: A Touch of Honey” skin cream for psoriasis or eczema, apply 4-5 times a day to help control it.
