Dry Rough Cracked Heels

I’ve written about cracked heels before.  But summer is here and out come the sandals and flip-flops and ouch!  A couple of things happen with summer.  One is that it is obviously hotter.  And because of this we sweat more.  When you sweat more you need to drink more water.  Most people that I know anyway, don’t drink nearly enough water.  They think that because they drink soda or coffee or tea that they are getting enough water in their systems.  Not so.  One needs more water and nutrition in the cells for that which has been lost.  So, drink enough water.  If you are thirsty, then you are past the point where you need water.  (Yes, you may find yourself going to the bathroom more often.)

Doing the above will help keep your skin hydrated enough to lessen the amount that your skin will crack.

If you have heels that are cracked then you need to put something on them that will help heal the heels.  Thentix has Calendula and Honey, both of which are humectants.  That means that they absorb and retain moisture.  So, besides the healing capabilities of these ingredients, they will help the skin stay hydrated enough so that it won’t split.  The Thentix will also soothe the cracked heels.  Bacteria will not live in the presence of honey – this is because it releases hydrogen peroxide slowly which kills any bacteria.  Bacteria will slow the healing of the cracks in the skin.   Putting pure Calendula or Honey on the cracks in the heels but that can be messy.   Also, there are other ingredients that help soothe and heal as well: Vitamin E, vitamin A and Aloe Vera.

So, remember to keep your fluids up and your sugar down and get something on the cracked heels that will help close them up.

You can see more at Thentix A Touch of Honey.
