Skin Care and Water

I talk to a lot of people about their skin.  They put all sorts of things on their hands, faces and the rest of their body to keep the skin from drying out or to help ‘hydrate’it.  The majority of these people are putting grease and oil on their skin.  They forget or don’t know that the main thing that is missing from the skin cells is water, not oil or grease.  Many if not most people are walking around in a de-hydrated state.  This will affect the skin as the cells here need water as much as any other cells in the body.

Drinking a glass of water an hour or so before a meal allows the water to get to the large intestine where it can be properly absorbed.  The body treats sodas, tea, coffee and the like as food and doesn’t move it through the system as quickly.  So, make sure that you drink just water a few times a day.

The other thing you need is to apply something to your skin that will retain water.  Honey does this.  Oil and grease will only clog the pores.  Honey will draw moisture into the cells and while hydrating them will generally make them healthier.  Honey absorbs and retains moisture.

Try to find skin products that have a minimal amount of petroleum products.

And enjoy the winter!!
